Hi, Debateably Oprah the most powerful woman in the world Your recent article 10/12/08.is again drawing attention to her greatest weakness,
her inability to control her mind, to help her control her level of body fat.
Unfortunately for a percentage of the general public, she uses her massive media machine to draw peoples attention to that weakness. Your newspaper also draws the readers attention to the January edition of Oprah's "O" magazine.

The question millions of woman should ask is, how good are her two bodyfat control MENTORS, Bob Greene & Dr. Phil,
who she turned into multi millionaires.

How could they allow their super celebrity to go through the pain & agony of seeing hersef heading back up to her peak fat levels of early 2001.
She can continue to encourage women to join her in investing in spandex undergarments to reduce their body image size, but what should be more of a concern to her & her doctors is the health risk. Her experience with heart pulpitations, lying on the floor of her Chicago penthouse, is a stark reminder to her of previous occasions.
Should'nt the question be asked, has the ramification of these three people collaborating, emotionally, and physically caused millions of consumers & fans to have become fatter today, than ever before. Oprah over nearly three decades, has single handedly contributed to more women experiencing the disasterous effect of Jo Jo dieting, plus extreme exercise regimes than any other, so called weightloss expert in history.

Opah's penetration of the overfat community has been extra ordinary. Her how to reduce body size & stay slim television programs, plus her books on cooking & slimming recipes with Rosie, plus her co authored slimming books with Bob Green have had a massive impact. The millions of dollars & or publicity she has gained from providing womens magazine with her personal history of, Fat & Skinny articles have also had a major impact.

Oprahs affect on children?
What is much more disasterous than the impact on overfat adult consumers, is when they pass on the Oprah trios advice to their children. This in some cases will contribute to these young people following the trackrecord of their mothers, and start a life of Yo Yo dieting.

Dr. Phil wanted a share of the huge Weightloss market.
When her proteg'e Dr. Phil made the decision that he could also jump on the slimming money train it was reported that Oprah did not endorse his actions. She ended up being vindicated when the smart L.A. lawyers on behalf of their disgruntled consumer clients threatened to take Dr Phil to court, for fraud and deceptive trade practices in respect to so called weightloss treatments.
Dr Phil was the world class courtroom psychologist & strategist of choice for Oprah, who helped her win her court room battle against the Texas cattle ranchers. In his situation Dr. Phil decided not to risk going to court in case it turned into another OJ Simpson type media circus culminating in a ruling of GUILTY as charged. Instead they chose to significantly increase his annual insurance premiums & get his insurance company to contribute to the $ 10 million settlement with his protagonists.

Perhaps his legal counsell advised and warned Dr. PhiI not to risk following Martha Stewart, Americas No.1 television homemaker celebrity and go to court and end up being given a prison sentance.

This constructive criticism comes from someone with reasonable experience in the science of body fat control
A few year after tracking Oprah for two & a half decades & believing she was almost certainly disasterously effecting thousands maybe hundreds of thousands of women consumers I made an effort to get to Steve Irwins producer Brisbane based John Stainton.
Unfortunately he was away overseas on a filming expedition.
Previously he had organised for Steve to appear on the Oprah show. I wanted to try to convince the Brisbane producer to help me, to help Oprah by arranging for me to talk with Oprahs personal assistant, and to arrange an audience with Oprah.
My belief was that with my half a century involved in the slimming industry, & having almost certainly helped more individual men & women to scientifically slim their bodies than any body else in the world that I may have had a more successful strategy to help Oprah than her other self confessed weightloss Gurus.

On the oprah.com website, in the section asking, "Your Comments Column" one reader re enforced what we say in our Blog, Oprah, please stop using your weight gain as a measure of who you are, As a role model it hurts us all.
Some of the McNally family go one step further and say Oprah get a life, and stop wingeing to your audience. Also stop using, The People's Confessional booth, to express self guilt, it's never helped you over past decades, and it wont help you now. If you would like to get the beneft of Peter McNallys 50 years of experience why not organise a video conferencing call between you and him?
